Whooping cranes return Louisiana

GUEYDAN — Ten "snowbirds" from the Northeast arrived in Vermilion Parish a week ago, escaping from winter's bitter cold to a warmer climate. One already has developed a liking for a South Louisiana delicacy, crawfish.
