I believe this is the first time I've caught an egg-turning with this owl!

Crazy starling!  I guess it wasn't enough to stick his head in...maybe his big brother dared him (or her).

Chris has been having the devil's own time with the cam - what he calls a combination of bad video capture software and hardware issues. Nevertheless, he reports that *** a FOURTH EGG *** has been laid, and we will see a capture whenever Quick Time - Java and the Powers that Be see fit to allow us to see one.

A couple frames from 3/8 - before Chris cleaned the grasses and things out.
I've never seen one of THESE in there while the owls were nesting! Starlings, yeah...

I've seen that one-eyed owl a few times too  Wink
Between starlings, squirrels, and one-eyed owls, the nestbox is quite a scene!

it would be so hard to get comfortable don't you think. Fear of cracking up the next generation.

Chris's site is up and running again. Mme. Owl now has 4 eggs as of March 19th. I saw them a bit earlier tonight, but now she's back brooding!

yeah - the brooding stage always seems so crushingly boring - but who knows if owls bore.
