Most of us have never been invited to a banding here either so join the crowd! So glad that this worked out for Athena, Six and their 'baby'!

Now that was quick! Chick is back and Athena is back. Didn't seem like very much trauma at all.

From Conserve Wildlife NJ Facebook page:
The 23 day old peregrine falcon nestling at the Jersey City was successfully banded this morning! She wears a black USGS band and a state bi-color band with an alpha-numeric code: 79/AN.
She now explores the whole nestbox and has very keen eyesight. Anything that moves will attract her attention.
We apologize to anyone who has had issues watching the stream on our website during the banding. We took her inside to band, so you didn't miss too much on the cam. We got video during the banding process that we'll share later on today.

I just asked if Conserve Wildlife is going to name her. If not, Mike and I name them, but the names are not official. Someone named them Beatrice and Dante, but we still call them Athena and Six. Although, Athena has been rather peaceful the last two years. Dante remains laid back much like how you would feel if you drank a six pack of beer.

Her feet look like they're turning yellow now.
