FARGO – For some, the arrival of a robin is a sure sign of spring.

For others, it’s a peregrine falcon sighting.

This week, at least one perennial visitor has apparently returned to the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Miracle, a female peregrine falcon who has nested outside the 12th floor of the Bank of the West building in downtown Fargo for several years, has again been seen downtown.

Or at least Wickham Corwin thinks it’s Miracle.

Until the local bird watcher is able to get a good look at the band on the bird’s leg, Corwin won’t be sure.

If it is Miracle, there is so far no sign of her past mating partner, Dakota Ace, a male peregrine who has been visiting the Fargo area since 2000.

But, Corwin added, it is not unusual for Dakota Ace to show up later than Miracle each spring.
