This may be staged, in which case it is still amazing.

Get out!!! Whether it is staged or not (and it is hard to tell these days), it's a good one, Paul. Did you see the one I posted earlier this week re the gull stealing the cat food? Now, THAT was real!!

A camera-hungry seagull snatched up a man's digital camera and took it for a test flight over Cannes.

And the entire theft was captured on video.

The fowl crook took off with YouTube user Opica1983's GoPro digital camera in June after he placed it down on the sidewalk to record video of the bird.

The seagull is seen in the video approaching the camera, then grabbing it before shooting into the air.

"Hey, hey," a voice is heard yelling, followed by a grunt, suggesting a mad-dash was made to retrieve the $200-plus camera.

Since it was posted, Internet users debated whether or not the video was authentic. Some believed it was a viral video made by GoPro to promote their cameras, something the company has denied.

"We did not set that up and we had nothing to do with that," GoPro's Director of Communications, Rick Loughery, told ABC News on Tuesday.

Opica1983 insists it’s real, too.

"I wanted to shoot seagull, I didn't expect that seagull [would] grab my camcorder and fly away," he told ABC News in an e-mail.

If that happened here, "Buddy" the gull would be taking pictures of Carol P!
