Looks like the peregrine only has a US Fish and Wildlife band.  I doubt it is Athena from 101 Hudson.  She isn't going to travel that far I don't think.  NJ seems to be on top of letting the public know what's going on, or is it just you, Donna?

Chances are less than 1% that the bird is Mariah.

Peregrines caught in a net are only given the US band, I think, since they don't know where they are from.  We do know Athena at 101 Hudson is over 12 years old and was banded on the east coast, probably Pennsylvania or Delaware.

Between Donna, my friend Mike, and Jim Wright, any news about peregrines in NJ gets printed.

We will be contacting Phung Luu shortly to see about Legs, the deformed eyas from 101 Hudson.  I'll try and get the picture Mr. Luu showed us of Legs.  And the bird probably has his new name.  Luu and his partner, Jackie, had great things to say about Legs.

You have such confidence in me, but I rely on others.  I'll bring my scope and digiscope if I get the chance.  Plus, I have a 500 with 2x teleconverter, but I have to manual focus.

But all this is if I even get a chance to see the peregrines, and there are several there.  Mike has to go with me.  He has young eyes.

Went to DeKorte today in search of peregrines.  Nada.  DeKorte is an absolutely spectacular place.  I found some other birds to photograph.
