Joyce picked me up today for a little road trip south of Rochester. Here's a link to view my album. No sign in is required.  Grin

yes And we laugh ALOT! We were having a great time following the Red-tailed hawks from one telephone pole to the next. We'd spot one, pull over get our cameras up and they'd take off either flying across a field to a tree or down to another pole. It was great fun! We had to have seen more than a dozen RTHs.  Grin

Osprey, Belted Kingfisher, and redtail!  Life doesn't get better than that, at least outside peregrine nesting season.

Nice stuff.  Did you notice that the RTH in #13 is banded!  I was at Braddock Bay last week for the RTH Watch and saw a bunch of RTH banded at their banding station.  Cool stuff!

The RTH with the band was one that we followed from pole to pole.  Interesting, neither MAK nor I spotted the band when we were watching.  I don't have any pics cuz I was the crazy lady stopping suddenly on the side of the road. The minute those red-tails see my lens...they take off.  MAK is more subtle...she blends in with the passenger window, or through the sunroof.

The RTH was an adult, so I wonder if this was one of Braddock Bay bandings from a previous year?
