The Snowy Owl is having an irruptive winter here in southern Ontario now too. They are showing up all over. It is because every 7 years or so there is a die off of their main prey food, lemmings. Toronto Wildlife Centre has already had a few to take care of and a few die. Some arrive down south starving,as many make the trip non-stop,so dont hunt/eat along the way. It is therefore important not to disturb them . I know everyone here would be respectful of the distance and activity when they see them or go out to search for them. I too will most definetly be out to see some, but wont encroach or disturb, most particularily if they are seen hunting or eating!!
