My Sailor Son Brandon has been gone for 7 months on the brand new Aircraft Carrier, George H.W. Bush.  He just got home on Saturday!  Sure wished I could have been there for the arrival.  My oldest son, Jeremy drove over to surprise him!  It was more than worth it.  He just got married the 30th of April and the ship took him away May 11th so I am sure the new wife is thrilled to finally have him home too.

Thanks you two!  Donna I will pass that hug on to him when I see him, but that won't be until next summer!  SUPER hard to wait that long but is just not able to happen this year.  Truely wanted to be there with my oldest son to help with the surprise but just wasn't "in the cards" this year.  Cry

Thank you so much ladies.  He is just a small paart of why I support the National HUGS groups.  He has really taught me the sacrifices the Military families all do for our freedom.  No Military in my family growing up.  He is a really good kid!  I will pass on your messages.

Thanks for sharing Annie and that you Brandon and Mrs. Brandon :-)

I am shameless and will always that an opportunity to talk about Fisher House.  Remember, our Service personnel that come home, but they are missing a body part or two.  Fisher House provides transportaion and housing for their families to help the rehab process.

Thanks for sharing, Annie.  You brought back a fond recollection of my Mike (who retired after 20 years in the Navy) when his ship came into port and Wayne and I, along with Mike's wife Jane and his stepson and stepdaughter and his father-in-law went to meet him.  First off the ship were the fathers of babies born while they were at sea, and there was hardly a dry eye on the dock.

It was almost as incredible a high as when he came home from Saudi Arabia in 1991 and we went to Westover AFB to meet his plane at 3 in the morning.  Life for military families is full of very high highs and very low lows.  I think Skype makes a huge difference for those families nowadays, and I bless its invention.
