Where does the name Pigott come from?

Pigott our Brighton female was named after the prominent Joseph Pigott family and Pigott Building in Hamilton, Ontario. Although the origin of Pigott was found to be England, the Pigott family were Irish.
I think we have a Celtic Peregrine.

And I am half Irish. Oh, no! I have been rooting for Beauty. Now I may have to change my allegiance.

All of the chicks that year were named after buildings that the falcons historically frequent at various times during their flights/eating/roosting.
The Pigott Building, the first steel-skeleton skyscraper in Hamilton and one of the first in Canada, was constructed in 1929 at a cost of $1,000,000. Named after the prominent Hamilton family whose construction company erected it, the building served as office space for almost 70 years before being converted to condos in the late 1990s. It?s roof once housed searchlights which revolved every 30 seconds. It now hosts perambulating peregrines often carrying pigeons who would rather be elsewhere.
I was at the banding and it was pronounced Pig It

Thanks for the info, Joyce and Donna. And OMG, those baby pictures of Pigott and her brothers, how much cuter can they be?
