Whew!  So busy I can't keep up!  Meet Athena!

 heart     heart

Athena no longer Eubie and not Dr or Claw, ever!  DEC refused to give the magnificent falcons silly names.  I hope UB stops having those contests.  Last year's submissions, even those made by professors, were obscene.  The UB 2011 Pefas did not get banded.

Anyhow, at the transmitter fitting Connie officially named the largest female, Athena.  This is the name of record in Albany.

I just blogged the event with lots of photos HERE!

Also, Niagara Gorge banding will be June 7th.  Reports HERE!

CT pefas should be hatching by the end of the week.  Statler and Grand Island Bridges bandings have taken place but I have no banding info yet.

Good thing it rained today or I wouldn't even have the blog updated!   dead  Busy pefa season collided with kitchen plumbing problems so I was without a working sink for a week.

Good luck to all our little Peregrine babies about to venture out into the big world!   happy

Amen to the name changes! Dr. Ubie Claw? I like Athena much better. Thanks Sage for setting me straight. I didn't think a male would have a transmitter unless he was a huge male. Hope your sink works now!

Either the photo where we thought five was an optical delusion or what I don't know but four got banded. 3 females, 1 male.   Carol was at the banding so she may have more to add.
Names are Rainbow (my request), Double-Diamond, Seven, all females, and the male is Black Jack.
The rock climber endured  continual threats while the banding was going on above and he was still hanging on the rope.
We had quite a good view from the American side though, don't you think? Smiley
