I had to put the breaks on everything I was doing when I got this call today. A Farmer named Tim Helton and two men from Burrton called and then came to our center to take me to a Great Horned Owl that was stuck in a Barbed Wire Fence. The men were Mike Day and Chris Ratzliff. They even stayed and helped me get him free. The owl was soaking wet and you could tell he had been struggling for awhile
. He was really wrapped up tight. The guys held him still while I cut the feathers. So their help was really appreciated. I just hate these rescues, because the birds don't talk and you know they are in pain. That is why I had to go rescue him right away. The good thing was he was only a couple of miles from our center, and I was able to get to him quickly. He is resting now and eating on some nice fat mice.
