This Morning around 4:00 AM my alarm went off at my gates. I was half asleep so I got up and saw these headlights pulling into my parking lot. So I grabbed some cloths. my rifle and stumbled around in the dark. I got outside and saw a truck leaving through my gates. So I looked in my pavilion and saw a box. There was a note on it and it was from the Colwich Power Plant for WeStar Energy. A little Kestrel had flown over one of thier exhaust turbines, and the heat burned his flight feathers and tail feathers. They don't look like they were burned all the way to the shaft. We will have this little guy for some time until he molts in new feathers. It could be this Fall, but it is more likely until next spring early summer.

Here's another photo of the kestrel with burned feathers. He flew over a turbine at a power plant. Company employees found the bird and transported him to Eagle Valley Raptor Center, so the bird, now aptly named "SpitFire," will be well cared for.
