Why is there a Gull flying around my yard. I have never ever seen one flying this low before...especially right above my house. What a weird day for me. Hawk hasn't come back yet. I'm paranoid and keep looking out the window to see if it's around. Birds just started coming back to feeder.

I often notice a lot of gulls here in the Washington, DC, area after a storm passes offshore. Maybe the gull in your yard is low because it is hunting for food.

You have a number of lakes in the Dover area and the Hackensack and Passaic Rivers aren't that far away. Toss in some lousey weather and everybody comes inland!

What do they eat? Not suet, I'm sure.

anything I think. Around here you see them in parking lots looking for garbage. Sometimes they come down from the lake.

Oh yeah, the parking lots are full of Gulls here too...but never saw one circling over my house. I'll feed him anything he wants. I don't think he'll be back....just a fluke.
