Lily's delivery of 2 cubs, 20 minutes apart.
Thank goodness the Lily Den Cam was up and running when Lily rolled onto her back just before 1:00 AM and pushed in full view. Lying on her back differed from her previous births and from what we expected. The first cub was soon delivered and a second followed 20 minutes later. The cubs’ little motors were soon humming along in unison—or rather ‘squeaking’ along in unison. Their voices are getting stronger and stronger as the hours go by and we are now hearing the more familiar hum. Lily has been hunkered down over them, warming them with her breath. The temperature has dropped from above freezing (with rain) at the time of the birth to only 9 degrees

The MNR has pulled Dr. Lynn Rogers bear study permit and he has until July 31, 2013 to remove radio collars from all study bears, including Lily.

I will bet lunch that the foul odor is H$U$ lobbying and "contributions" to the politicians behind this. There is an enormous difference between Animal Rights and Animal WELFARE, and H$U$ exemplifies it, all with tax free 501(c)3 money

I read about that on one of the bear boards I frequent, what a shame. It will be open season on those poor bears now. Humans have taken land away from far too many species and it seems the very people tasked with looking after them are putting the humans needs first instead of the bars.
I don't know what it's going to take to wake people up. I think humans will not stop destroying and stealing the environment from the species we share earth with until a massive tragedy forces them too. And they say we are the smarter species..I beg to differ.

There's a FB group called "Lily: A bear with a bounty" that are taking a lot of credit for the permit not being renewed. These people have been brutal in their remarks over the past couple years, encouraging everyone and all their relatives to send emails to the DNR about every little thing being done "wrong" in the study, asking that Dr. Rogers permit be revoked. They made awful comments and jokes when Hope was shot to death and I'm afraid Lily's going to have a big target on her back now.
Just posted that the DNR may have just shot a "nuisance radio-collared bear".
