Pictures from the Great Snow of 2009

Ok, for those of you in Rochester and places North, 18 to 24 inches of light snow is pretty ho-hum.
For those of us in the DC area, it is closed,
cars were abandoned on the Beltway last night, Loudon County has already closed school on Monday and the list goes on. Down here in Calvert County where we were in the initial blizzard and high snowfall zone because of the nor'easter, we hunkered down and took pictures! It is cold and pretty. Thank God it is light because my decks have blown to over knee to mid-thigh height.
Enjoy the outdoor images and I've included a few from inside, too.

Wow! That is a lot of snow Janet. I like your Christmas decorations in the house, too.
Check out these videos I found on the Weather channel web site of dogs and one cat from the south enjoying the snow. I would bet it is the first time some of these guys have seen this stuff.
Enjoy:

I really enjoyed your outdoor photos and also the indoor ones, especially the plush peregrine.
It's fun to see how others decorate their homes - yours is really pretty.

Thanks everybody. A tidbit on the inside pics - the decorations are a 40-year work in progress, as I've been collecting since I was a kid. There is at least one Christmas Tree in every room - some of the small ones are left out year round because I like them.

I would LOVE to do that but my husband thinks the tree should go up on the 23 and come down the 26th
Forgot to say I love your home and how you have it decorated. I hope you show us the ceiling and fireplace when you get them done.

I'm in the Rochester area. The pictures of the snow are really pretty, especially when they are not in my back yard!!!
Your home is lovely, inside and out.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Great pictures Janet - what a lovely home you have! Thanks for sharing! Loved the pictures of Bart around the house!
That snow is something else..... I feel so guilty - it was 70 degrees here yesterday!
Hope all you Midwest and East Coasters are surviving the snow OK!
Best wishes and Happy New Year to all, from sunny SoCal!

We experienced the December snowstorm up in the mountains of western Virginia. It was a great start to a wonderful Christmas with a surprise ending.
