Pigott question
«
on:

How long will Pigott hang around her territory without some male showing up? I'm trying not to worry about her moving into Beauty's territory, but I'm thinking that if she doesn't get a mate soon, that's what might happen. Could DC still show up?
Also, could her chosen nesting site be a possible deterent for passing tiercels?

I can't answer all your questions but migration is still going on and there is a possibility that DC could be late. Don't forget, last year he showed up the 1st week in April. If he doesn't, a passer-by may stop in for some company with Pigott. As far as the location at BS, many falcons have been spotted there in the past, so it's a pretty active site. In Rochester, anything can happen. If DC does not come back, I hope she finds herself a mate also. She deserves it.

I'm hoping Pigott feels like it's not a good idea to try and take on Beauty anymore. Even with help from DC last year she couldn't take over the territory. That being said if/when DC returns all bets are off. Like Donna said there have been many falcons that have visited the site over the years. Obviously we'd all like to see Pigott with her own mate. Time will tell.

Thanks for the information. I didn't remember how late it was last year when things got started with Dot.Ca. And I had forgotten that Beauty successfully defended her territory and did it right after release from rehab. She's much stronger I'm sure by now and has a male who has bonded with her and hopefully would help her defend her territory. However, I would hate to see anything happen to Pigott as well. So hopefully she will get a male of her own and have her own nest and "family".

We all have the same hope for Pigott-fingers crossed!

Pigott's birth place is Hamilton where her mom Madame X and dad Surge rule the skies.
