Beauty Lays Egg #3

Beauty with three eggs

Beauty with three eggs

We get to celebrate our 400th post here at Imprints with the fantastic news that Beauty has laid egg nuimber three! It looks like the egg was delivered right around 8:45AM, but we had to wait another fifteen minutes to get a decent look at all three of the eggs. There are two on either side of her bill (the new one is on the right) and one behind her bill.

Beauty’s taking a well-deserved nap right now, covering the eggs. It’s too early to say if incubation has begun, but we’ll keep our eyes on the nest box to see if she begins to brood. If so, then we’d expect one more egg for a final clutch of four.

Check back often with the Rochester Falconcam to see what happens next with Beauty and Archer!

This is exciting news! It is keeping all of us in the office transfixed with the daily updates.

I noticed that the falcons in Hamilton, ON and Syracuse both seemed to be incubating several days earlier. Can this be explained by Beauty being a first timer? Or is it pure coincidence or some other reason?

From Cape Cod , a loud yippee !!! It’s so exciting to have another season, another family of falcons to watch and follow. Thanks to all the “reporters” in Rochester for making this possible.;-D

Wow and wow! This part of town is much busier than High Falls so if they keep going and all the eggs hatch fledgewatch will need all the help they can get.

Thank you for the Quest update. Unbelievable – she’s last tracked right over (on or in?) the nestbox.

  9. Alison Says:

gr0tt0, I think it has more to do with Archer’s late return from his peregrinations.

  10. Penny Says:

An addition to my previous comment, Sonny and I are watching from Las Vegas, NV. We can’t wait to wake up each morning to log in and see what wonderful news awaits us. Thank you for providing all the updates and pictures, and for allowing us to watch God’s beautiful animals upclose. Something we wouldn’t be able to see in such detail. Thank you. 🙂
