Weekly Update on Beauty’s Condition – Looking Good! – 3/1/12

“Beauty was put in the flight cage yesterday am (2/29). She is doing fine, flew from perch to perch several times. The wound area continues to heal with feathers growing in. She needs a bit more time however to stretch her wings and build up her muscles before release; hopefully not too much longer.”
Sounds like Beauty continues to heal and get stronger. Thanks Barbara for these weekly updates. We all appreciate hearing how Beauty is doing.

…..so happy to hear the good news about Beauty. I’m wondering if they decide to release her in Rochester, will she encounter the same problem with Unity, and on Archer’s return, will it be the same situation – competition for Archer’s attention ???

I am glad our Girl is doing well. Heal Fast, Heal STRONG Beauty.
This is going to get interesting or scary.
Who will Archer support? Beauty or Unity
Who will Unity choose? Mr W or Archer
Will Mr W leave (like Mr T) or fight? I think fight he looks more fierce than Mr T ever did.
I guess a lot depends on when Beauty is released and Archer gets home.

I agree with what Barb said – “interesting or scary”. Personally, I don’t like scary, so I am being an ostrich right now and not thinking about it.
The good news is that Beauty continues to heal. Thank you to Barbara L and the DEC for letting us know.
I will keep lighting candles for Beauty, and for ALL of the falcons who grace our skies. Every day we can see any birds – the ones in our yards, the wild ones who have made our cities home, or even the ones that live with us in our homes — we are privileged to share their lives.

Hi Alison. Brian H tagged the new Tiercel, Mr Wonderful. 😉
He showed up a few days after Unity and Beauty fought for the territory. Now he’s pretty much trying to win Unity’s attention by doing some fancy flying and bringing her “little gifts” ie. small parcels of prey. She seems to be accepting his food offerings but still keeping him at a distance. Possibly hold out hope that Archer will return.

So MAK’s Mr. is Mr. W. to Brian? OK. MAK did not seem to think Beauty was too impressed with him a couple of days ago.
