Falcon Watch- Ginha, Sunday, July 1, Noon to 2:30
Dave & I met Jon & Joni as they were leaving. They told us what they had seen and who was still watching out on the bridge. We found Carol P,Marcia, Don & Suzette from Ithaca, Craig & Joyce from Webster,Mary,Joshua,Chris,Sue and Mike. Hope I didn’t leave anyone out. 3 Juvies were in a tree resting and 1 was on the Brewery.We all enjoyed looking at them thru Marcia’s handy scope.
One of the Juvies took off and scattered all of the Gulls just for fun.We saw 2 food transfers and some talon tag. The adults only flew with the GALS during transfers. The rest of the time it was watching the young learn the skills they need.Roger joined us, said he did watches in the past. Ananta got some food but did not want to share it. After she was done she flew back to the Brewery and took a quick rest. She then came over to a tree close enough for me to get a few pic’s. She took off for some fun with her sisters.Now it was Linn’s turn to sit so I could get some pic’s of her. While Linn sat , her sisters chased a Great Blue Heron and dove on the poor old Turkeys.
At 2:30 I had to go and grab a quick bite to eat. Shaky was just getting there and I told him where the GALS were.We got back in an hour,Shaky was just leaving. We met up with Joyce from Ottawa and Nancy They told us what they had seen. We stayed for another hour and headed out. Enjoyable way to spend the day.
