Fledge Watch- Marcia Lyman, Monday, July 2, 5:30-9:00 PM
At around 5:30 tonight, I arrived at the Kodak visitor parking lot to find Carol P. and Susan C. observing two of the juveniles eating on the roof of the High Falls office building. Another soon flew in from somewhere on the BeeBee Station. Two of these were identified as Ananta and Linn. Mariah was watching from the catwalk of the High Falls smokestack. Soon Linn flew, with food, to the northernmost BeeBee Station building, landing next to another of her sisters, I think Grace.
All the juveniles stayed on the BeeBee Station, all the evening. Guess they must have been tuckered out from yesterdayÂ’s (or maybe earlier todayÂ’s) wild flying.
At 8:00, there was a food exchange from Kaver to Sacajawea. By 8:15, Sacajawea was eating on BeeBee Station, Linn was on the Brü building, Ananta was on top of the elevator shaft of the High Falls office building, Grace was on the northernmost BeeBee Station building, Kaver was on the center smokestack catwalk railing, and Mariah was out hunting.
At 8:20, Mariah brought in another product of her Rochester pigeon reduction program. (SheÂ’s been putting a real dent in their population. The bird deserves a key to the city.) She took it to the southeast corner ledge of the 16th floor of Kodak Office. Mariah was eating when Ananta barreled up and knocked her mother off the ledge, scarfing the pigeon for herself.
After some late position-shuffling, by 9:00 PM, all falcons were accounted-for: Linn was on “Acon’s Peak” on Building 10, Ananta was on the southeast corner of the 17th floor, Grace was north of Ananta on the east face of the 17th floor ledge, and Sacajawea was on the east face of the 12th floor, on a window ledge. Mariah and Kaver were on catwalk railings on the High Falls and center smokestacks, respectively.
Watchers tonight included Carol P., Susan C., Erma and Leon with grandson Anthony, ErmaÂ’s sister Carol and husband John, David S., Jennifer C., Ginny F., Lisa McK., Diana R., Dan S., Joyce M., Jeanne, Lou, Shaky and Carrie, and Barb.

Nice report Marcia. Thanks for letting me know what I missed after I left (having drained 3 batteries on my camera that day!). – Carol P.
