Sorry for the hold-up on Quest Reports.
She’s really been on the move and she seems to like the north side of Lake Ontario. She definitely likes staying close to water, crossing the US/Canadian border multiple times. As our friend Mark Nash from the Canadian Peregrine Foundation says, Peregrines know no borders.

Well, there goes my comment about Peregrine dual citizenship. 😉
Thanks for the update, Jess! Keep ’em coming!

Thank you so much for the Quest update. Happy to hear that she is still flying free and good for her on finding a way to get past the new passport rule 🙂

I’m thinking Quest probably leaves an occasional “DNA sample” on the hoods of border patrol vehicles, in case of any question about her real identity 🙂
Glad to hear all the females are doing well at this point.

She’s made it through that decisive first year! Another milestone for Quest.
Is the vest and transmitter still designed to fall off after two years? Would the antenna interfere with mating?

Chrissy – I’ve been told that yes, the vest should fall off after two years and that it should not interfere with mating.

sandynl, I believe the latest photo is here: http://rfalconcam.com/imprints/?p=645 taken Jan 25. I only recently realized there’s a search box for this site but it’s not on every page.
To any viewers so inclined, I have a re-Quest. I will give a donation to kfalconcam for any picture sent in of her.

6/12/09 – Greece NY, approximately 6:30 pm, I saw a falcon make a kill on a dive. It was a small bird and the falcon landed in the driveway across the street. We pulled our car up and I was approximately 10 feet from the falcon when his head turned toward me and he grasped his meal and took off. From the close up he looked very much like a Peregrine. We live off Latta Rd near the Green acre nursery. It was an amazing event to watch. Comments welcome.
