Archer and Beauty Copulate on the Wilder Building – March 27, 2011

Rochester Falcon Watcher Carol P.

Although the calendar says it’s Spring here in Rochester, NY, the frigid cold temperatures say differently.  It was very cold, but the sun was shining and the sky was blue.  I met quite a few of my fellow Watchers out and about this weekend.  Took lots of pictures (which I still have to find time to go through) and a few videos.

Here’s one video that I really wanted to share with everyone.  I took this one today.  It shows Beauty on the corner of the Wilder Bldg, which is across the street from the Times Square bldg, where the nest box is located.  Archer was sitting on the Times Square Bldg.  He took off and well, you can see the rest for yourself.

Enjoy!

The video is deceiving. Blue skies, clear day, no snow! Gorgeous Pefas, but it was cold! Great video, Carol. They are a noisy two-some!
Viewing the YouTube video led me to “A half an hour with Mariah” that you filmed in 2009. I watched it again, and cried again. I have seen it before, but for some reason it popped up while watching today’s film. You were so lucky to have that time, and to capture it on camera. Mariah was special to you, but you were special to Mariah as well!

    Hi Carol,

I feel sorry for Lady Pefa just sitting there waiting. I think Beauty must have given Archer an ultimatum. Do you think she will stay until she finds a mate?

  3. Carol Says:

I hope so Lu Ann. We hope that the migration will bring in a handsome Tiercel for her. 🙂
