Eyes to the Skies

Jim P – Friday July 18, 11:45 – 12:45

Larry O’heron and I got to spend our lunch hour in agreeable company indeed– Seneca graced us with a terrific air show in the gorge. I’ve put together some pictures here:

    Jim,

The tears are streaming down my face. Your words and photos are so special tonight. I think Seneca is saying goodbye to her dear friends behind the lenses…..

I am new to this web site this year and I am hooked forever. Thank you.

I agree with Janet H.. My eyes are definitely near to flowing. Saying good-bye is always hard to do and this feels like good-bye. You make it especially dramatic combining pictures with words to create the feeling of actually being there. Thank you. I can hardly wait to start again next year !!!

Seneca, WOW! And, Jim, thanks for the amazing photos of our little darling girl in action!

I too am saddened that the time has come where we will no longer see the fledges. They have become such great fliers, from the awkward little ones they were. The pictures and reports have been great to read and hear and I thank you all who have had the privilege to wittness first hand their flying and antics. I think you all deserve and applaud and a sincere thanks.
Knowing there may be little if any siteings, it brings tears to my eyes and heart. I wish them all a long and fruitful life.
I hope we will be able to meet again next year at a new nesting place. Looking forward to any future reports.

Jess, a friend of mine lives in Penfield and says he saw several Falcons flying around the landfill there, chasing the gulls. I heard something about that happening. Do you think they could cause any harm to our fledges, if they get any where near there? I am worried about that. Being new to this, there is alot I still don’t understand. I’d appreciate any insight you might have. Thanks.

You are an incredible photographer, Jim. I particularly liked the image of Seneca flying with the American flag behind her. I too share your thoughts and feelings on the end of this season. Thank you again for sharing with us.
