Wednesday Morning Fledge Watch – 6-10-20

By Rochester Falcon Watcher Carol P.

It was already warm when we arrived in the hole (aka Aqueduct St). Temps were going to rise into the low to mid-90’s today with a heat index near 100. Not a good day for one of our eyases to fledge.

Watchers Kathy O, Sue, Shaky, Larry O and Carol P. were on fledge watch this morning.

Beauty and Dot.ca were both on Mercury and we could see all three eyases near the nest box.

During our watch (6:30 to 11:00 am), there was a lot of activity by our five falcons. We did not have a fledge during that time and I was thankful. The heat and humidity was rising. Tomorrow promises to be much cooler. Of course, we may still have a fledge today. You just never know!

Here are some pictures that I took during our morning fledge watch. Enjoy! and be safe everyone!

I’ll leave you with two Paranoid Pigeons.

Hey Pete! Do you feel like someone is watching us?
It’s those two kids!
