Let the Fledge Watch Begin! – 6-9-20

By Rochester Falcon Watcher Carol P.

Kathy O and I arrived downtown around 8:00 am. Roc was out at the north end of the wall. He was standing tall and looking off to the north. Dot.ca was on the OCSR and Beauty was in the nest box area with Geraki and Hope.

Roc on the Wall

Hope came out on the platform for a look around.

Dot.ca came in with food and landed on the wall. Roc came sprinting towards him, forcing Dot.ca to take off, leaving the food on the wall for Roc.

Geraki and Hope watched from the platform.

Geraki came out onto the wall bump and watched Roc eat his fill. When Roc was done, he brought what remained closer to Geraki and she jumped down from the bump and ate what was left.

Geraki and Roc spent most of the watch out on the wall. Roc has lost most of his fluff, unlike Geraki. I believe he will be fledging first and soon.

Hopefully the Fledge Watchers will be able to start watching soon and I hope that some of them will take the time to leave Fledge Watch Reports.

Here’s an added bonus! A video of Dot.ca delivering food to Roc on the wall, then being chased off!

Stay safe everyone!
