Plenty of flying from all the fledglings today. I’ve posted pictures and a recap here:

Thank you, Jim! I have my falcon fix for the day!!! Great shots of other wildlife in the area, too.

That was quite a long day for you, resulting in beautiful photos and a great story. Amazing shot of the mid-air food “exchange” between Kaver and Mariah. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Thanks, Jim.

Thank you so much for those great photos. Looks like they are all doing well..I am so glad. Looks like Quest is doing okay with that (ugh) transmitter on her. Quite a nice treat seeing the mommie dear and her two babies, grazing. All of these Ihave saved to my pc. Looking forward to more.Guess I need this everyday, I worry about them.

Those shots of Mariah intercepting prey are stunners, Jim. And they’re set against the bluest skies I’ve ever seen in Rochester. Thanks for sharing it all with us.

I really look forward to your postings, your photos make me feel like I am right there. I am so glad to see that all five fledglings are doing well. Thanks so much to you and all the falcon watchers that make sure they stay safe and have a great start to life. It is good but sad that this season is almost over.

I agree with Debbie. I had a couple of busy days but kept thinking of “our” kids and couldn’t wait to find time today to check up on them. Thanks for doing SUCH a great job of reporting. It IS sad to think they’ll be leaving home (and safety) so soon. They are all growing and learning really fast aren’t they? Have any of the fledglings caught their own food yet?

I enjoyed your report and your photos, particularly the close-ups of Seneca, Zephyr, and Quest. I have my own little slide show now starting when M & K were still eyas-less. It is amazing to see how quickly the eyases grow and fledge and now to know they will venture out on their own soon. Do you know if they go solo once they leave the Rochester area? Simply amazing.
If there’s enough data, I would love to chart out some sort of tree to show all of M & K’s offspring, grand-, & great-grand- too. Wouldn’t that be interesting to see?
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you as well!! I wondered the same as June… Have any of the fledglings caught their own food yet?

Maureen – We’ve witnessed Zephyr and Diamante chasing after moths and Dana and I saw Zephyr almost catch a small bird. It’s only a matter of time that one of the juvies will be successful. – Carol P.
