Someone needs to figure out what is going on. But I don't think Beauty would calmly sit there while someone was down in that well (smoking) she seems just as fierce as  Mariah  and she would never have let them get that close without an attack.

So where is the smoke coming from? Could something be on the camera and it looks like smoke? It appears and disappears so I am confused.

I agree with you BC...Beauty would be right at that corner. Just curious  what that is.

Some sort of vent, perhaps?  I think if it was a smoker s/he would be very close by for us to see so much smoke, which I imagine would dissipate pretty quickly in the wind at that height.  Over the amount of time you have documented, we would likely have gotten a glimpse of him/her.  However, it would be a good idea to check it out with building maintenance.

Regarding the smoke seen on Cam 1:

The Cottonwood trees in Rochester are in full seed-release mode right now.  These trees release their seeds in little cotton-like puffs, and you would not believe how much they fill the air.  Some days, you would swear it was snowing, and yards can be completely filled with white fluff.

So, there's a good chance that that smoke could be a seed fluff stuck to the camera lens.

The "smoke puff" has the same general shape and position in each picture.  That leads me to believe it's probably something quite close to the camera.  My best guess: some cottonwood fluff caught in a spiderweb that gets blown into the camera frame by the prevailing wind currents.
