Thanks Sage.  2thumbsup   I find it interesting that the intruder stayed when their were 2 in the scrape with it. Must have been held down really good.  I would have thought the female would get in on the battle. I guess it's more important to protect the eggs than to help her mate. Too bad Archer joined forces with Beauty against Mariah that Easter morning. Just a comparison. Perhaps there were no eggs on Midtown yet.

It seemed that the intruder kept looking directly at BB as if he expected her to help him.  That, plus his smaller size, makes me think it might have been Smoky if he survived the earlier fight when he lost the nest.

Then, after this fight for the UB nest, Roger and I were on hand to see a third bird trying for the CT nest.  Stash was on the perch and he screamed for Stella who was inside the nestbox, and the two of them were very hostile to the intruder who then left.  If Smoky survived the UB fight, could he have also been the CT intruder?

BB may not have helped out due to the eggs being so close to the two Tiercels.  Her concern seemed to be to keep them safe.  Also, the two males seemed to be in a wrestling match, both on their backs.  Neither wanted to move to give the other the upper hand (or talon in this case).

Yes, poor thing seemed at a loss.   She kept chattering though, and when she got the chance, tried to get the eggs.  I am surprised they weren't all broken.
