DC spent a very long time at the nest this morning.

Soon after he left, Beauty came in.

OK-then it wasn't just me missing them today. Off on their own adventures I guess!

So...the Perseid meteor shower is supposed to peak tonight after midnight. According to timeanddate.com the best angle will be between 37ยบ and 44ยบ north-east gradually rising in the sky from 29.4ยบ to 67ยบ altitude.

I don't think cam 1 will go high enough without running into the housing after a while, but probably worth a shot at pointing cam 1 that way tonight.

Based on this google earth image I would guess just about over the Radisson would be about right.

Hopefully the cloud cover will cooperate!

Maximum elevation of the camera at full zoom is 30 degrees. When zoomed out, the housing obscures the top part of the frame.

Other problems to deal with will be the poor low-light capability of the camera (noise, focus, low frame rate) and the flare from city lights washing out the picture.

I saw both Beauty and Dot.ca this morning. Both had a big breakfast before the heat became too oppressive. Also saw an adult at Seneca Towers on the south side of the bridge.
