Dana pointed out that this is Neander feeding the eyases very early this morning.

Yay! Noted...I was just about to start the feeding charts!

That explains the 2nd meal that came in at the end of this feeding.

Not looking good for the 4th egg hatching, but I'm really good with 3 for these 2. Thanks for the chart Ei.

(movie)

Shift change! So hard to tell when the incoming parent goes to the exact same spot!

Must be my imagination, but that egg looks like it's pulsing, good look at it 18:34+?

Probably just moving with the eyases bumping it. And the breeze is picking up.

No, it was sitting by itself for quite awhile, maybe the way the light was hitting it.

There were also some problems with the video stream at that time. The camera could have been acting up and making things look weird.

Congrats on your first post!  clap

Looks like Neander may have done a small successful feeding while Nova was out preparing the main course!

Hi Casey. Thanks for posting this. We need more eyes on what's  happening in the nest box.  It doesn't look good for the hatching of the #4 egg. But, you never know.

Also, unhatched eggs have been known to explode. It happened in the Utica nest box in 2020 and I've heard of it happening at other nest sites. Thankfully, that has never happened here, yet.

Congrats on your first post! Welcome!

Here's a feeding comparison between Beauty--Dot.ca & Nova--Neander. One thing stands out right away! Can you see it?
