Total Eclipse Day!

Sadly, clouds will be moving in so we probably won't get a great view.  Sad

There may have been clouds covering the eclipse but we did get some amazing views on the cams!

The color of the sky/clouds to the east caught my eye in this one

Movie of pics during the solar eclipse totality!

(movie)

Our totality started at 3:20 pm. The sun and moon were totally covered by clouds, but it went totally dark for 3 mins and 38 seconds and the temperature dropped about 10 degrees. I was watching from my backyard surrounded by my neighbors. I really wish we had been able to see the eclipse, but the total darkness was very cool!

Interestingly,  Neander left the eggs at 3:08 pm.

The 4 eggs were left uncovered for only a moment.

Nova took over incubation at 3:10 pm.

Nova did a lot of looking around as darkness descended for the little over 3 mins.

At 4:48 pm, Nova is still in th nest box dozing.

Egg brooding chart #2!

I did have to remove a few switches on 3/27. There were 16 changes that day-far more than usual- and the spreadsheet isn't handling it well. I will need to dig into the guts of it to figure out why it's acting up.
