Peregrines at the seaside, by Glenn Nevill

I've always been partial to peregrines nesting on wild cliffs, and San Francisco's Glenn Nevill has taken a picture that shows falcons as I like to imagine them.  This is how they are in my dreams.

You probably do, Donna, on the Palisades.  They're pretty quiet about where to find cliff nests to prevent disturbances.  There's a known nest near here in the Shawangunk cliffs.  They block off the hiking trails, but there's never a peep about it until after the eyases fledge.

Good question, Amy. None that I've heard of.

Peregrines at the Palisades. Linn Pierson told me years ago there were some but that they had to find someone to rappell to them. I guess Kathy Clark (Linn's boss) learned and is doing it!

I do have a picture of the box that was installed.  Sadly, I learned on Monday, that Kathy Clark thinks the nest may have failed.  It is very close to a trail and perhaps the falcons were disturbed.
