You know, there was a remake of Dark Shadows that I fell across not long ago while channel-hopping (and therefore still  needing something productive to occupy my mind...). Truly, there was! I knew what it was immediately, but it disappeared. Probably for the best - how could they have improved on perfection??? Haha!

We watched that show too Bobbie, it was back in 1991. Was on for 1 season and disappeared. Was called "Dark Shadows" with Ben Cross and Joanna Going. We actually liked that show. Then the War began, "Desert Storm" and all eyes were glued to that and not Dark Shadows. Even though it received good ratings, they decided not to bring it back.

(If that's the one your talking about).  wave

Nooooo! Really?? You saw this one too, Donna? We ARE "kindred"! bow

WAS it Joan Bennet in the original? And what was the guy's name who was always in the crypt with Barnabas? Willie something? I must google that piece of music... cannot hear it in my head, and I am pretty good at that sort of thing... remind me to tell you sometime about my knowledge of 1960s cowboy series themes... Hmmmm... hyper

Creepy  ???  I thought they were cute!  I had dimensional paper dolls of all of them that I and my friends would play with for hours! Loved the names and Clarabelle was also a favorite of mine. I guess we all have our own opinions.

Clarabelle! Yes! I just checked, and he was played by Bob Keeshan - Captain Kangaroo! (Sorry about the "creepy"...)

Yup! Bob Keeshan, Don Knotts, Gabby Hayes and Buffalo Bob Smith who was originally from Buffalo, NY!  That's OK- like I said, everyone has their own opinion.

I loved Zoo Parade.  Some years later, one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV happened when Jim whatever, the other guy on Zoo Parade, was a guest on the Tonight Show.  He had a magnificent Bengal Tiger on with him.  When Johnny announced a commercial break, the cameras panned to the tiger.  As a Cat Person, I immediately recognized "the look", and sat open mouthed as that tiger sniffed the curtain, turned around, and did the whole spray ritual, tail quivering, lifting one rear paw and then the other, all of it, as he soaked the curtain.  Johnny's face was priceless!
