From Carly on BCAW:
Picked up Pierre's body on the lower rooftop this morning. He was fine at breakfast, flew and hit the reflective glass and died instantly.
Skyla is lost somewhere really low - she was in a tree all day yesterday and then flew to a lower roof but can't get a fix on her at all. No sign of Sunni at all since Pierre died and OC is out searching but no vocalization or signs of anyone.
Just popped into the office for quick update and to cool off. Forgot to update on that 'intruder', he's not been back since the day he and OC tangoed.
Back out I go.
Fly free, little Pierre. You're with your brother, Heaton, now.

It's so hard to lose all these beautiful young falcons. We've been lucky here in Rochester and I hope that continues! Sorry to all our Canadian friends on your losses!

June 19, 2014 - Kitchener - Sun Life Centre
Lisa Reh Reports:
It is with immense sadness, that the team reported at noon, Pippin hit the windows and ended up in the gardens at the Caroline Street entrance and did not survive. Rest in peace, Pippin.

!!! Sad news today
June 19, 2014 - Kitchener - Sun Life Centre
Lisa Reh Reports:
June 19, 2014
It is with deep regret and heavy hearts that the fledge watch team reported today that Soleil had a tragic and fatal accident this morning. Janice reported seeing Soleil and Merry on the 5th floor roof on the Park Street corner at 8:15. Soleil was very anxious to get moving with lots of head bobbing and wing flapping. She “hopped-flew” along the edge of the roof to the King Street corner. Pippin was also seen doing a few circles around the rooftop. Just before 9:00 a.m. one of our tower watchers contacted Tony that another fledgling had hit the window. It was Soleil, our largest fledgling at banding (yellow tape). Perhaps she was trying to help Merry back up the top of the roof. Rest in peace, little sister.
Merry is still on the 5th floor and was on the smoke stack at last report at 9:15 a.m. The fledge watch team is keeping a close watch on him and are concerned that he may have a wing injury due to his mishaps with the windows. The good news is that he is still flying however his flights have not had much height. Keep trying Merry – you are named after one of the bravest hobbits!

I am heartbroken to hear there has been so much loss. Such a shame this human world and it's buildings get in the way.
No more please.

A sad day at ICICI
June 22, 2014 - Toronto - Don Mills and Eglinton - Amexon
Cathy Kerr Reports:
It is with heavy heart that I have to report that we have lost our little Zee (aka Zeballos). She was found by the security guard today at the base of the ICICI building. By the look of it, she hit the building and died on impact. My team and I so enjoyed watching her grow, learning to fly and be such a good sister to her brothers. She will be missed.
Soar high little one.

Oshawa has their first nesting peregrines, and a new baby peregrine! Lakeview Health Oshawa has some new residents!
Female is : The adult female peregrine was hatched in 2012 in New York State in the USA. She dawns a Black over Green leg band – 73 over AW and she was named “Alfrieda”,,,, named after one of the architects of the Central Terminal in Buffalo NY USA where she was produced.
Male may be: er solid Black banded male mate - band # 63 over X with Yellow tape overtop of his silver USFW band on the other leg is one that we banded on May 24 2012, produced at the Canada Square nest site. ** We have not confirmed that this is the resident male at the hospital as yet.
If it is in fact the same male, he was named “Simcoe”, (and was produced at the Canada Square nest site at the Yonge & Eglinton nest here in up-town Toronto).
Photos of Alfrieda and baby :

Woohoo! Such happy news! Alfrieda is the daughter of Diamante and Gleig! Another M&K granddaughter has a M&K great grand-baby! She was one of the A&W girls.
