Scenes from my backyard

Taken today hanging out my bedroom window
The first 2 are fairly classic...
These 2 I'm adding at full ginormous size...the composition is awful,
but I managed to catch some fascinating details best seen at full size.
In the second one, the interesting bit is top right.

And a few more from this weekend...
I caught this tufted titmouse in the act...he looks none too happy with me
I looked out the window and saw this deer napping in the back...
I thought I saw some movement on the other side of the tree...but I didn't see anything at first other than the bird...
...until he turned his head around to look at me...
Talk about camouflage!

The deer were back today. They stayed long enough to get enough pictures for a small
album
. No need to sign in.

Hi Ei,
Your album pictures of today's deer are great.
It is nice to be flattered by their presence.
Thanks for sharing.

When I read your captions I felt like you were whispering them so as not to scare the deer! Thanks for the nature fix Ei!

I am quite blessed to share my yard with so many beautiful animals. They seem to know it's safe. I actually live on a main highway, but the way the house is situated it blocks the backyard from the road. Even in the front/side yard they rarely go past the halfway point to the main road. They will cross the small road directly in front, but they know to watch for cars.
Browsing pictures today I found this one of a young buck-you can just barely make out the knobs on his head. He looks a bit scraggly, but he was actually fine-it was spring and he was shedding. I saw him later in the summer & he had fattened up nicely.
Anyway, when I have stale bread I'll throw it in to the yard for the squirrels. He found a slice and I caught him with it. He's not quite sure what to do with it, but he wouldn't drop it.

Yesterday I just managed to catch a glimpse of the family of deer that travel together-I saw several moving up the hill and counted 6 more. After they had mostly moved on I spotted this young buck pulling up the rear.
Too young to be with the bachelor herd, too old to stay close to the does. It was nice to see one of "my" fawns make it this far.
