So, what do we know about the history of the Rochester Falcons?  We all know about Mariah and Kaver and before Kaver, Cabot-Sirroco.  Now the new kids in town, Beauty and Archer have started their own section of Rochester History.

There is a vast amount of information out there.  Many of the members, old and new, on this forum have much to contribute.  It's time to pull all this info together onto this site.  The goal is to have one place to go to read all about the Rochester Falcons.

I am putting out a call for volunteers to help with this project.  Everyone is welcome to join this team.  We'll have lots of fun and maybe shed a tear now and then as we all work to bring back our favorite falcons to share with the world.  They ALL deserve to be remembered and cherished.

Please reply to this if you would like to join this team.  I can use all the help I can get.

Take care all and thanks,
Carol P.

Carol, I saved a few old posts of the fledgewatchers, probably 2001 or 2002. Do you need such things?
I'm not sure if I'm the best person, but of course I will help.

I'll help if I can. I'm not too good on the computer. And the only history I know is what the veteran watchers have told me. Grin

Thanks MAK and Donna!   clap

This is going to be a very big project and lots of volunteers are needed.  I'm talking about the whole history of the Rochester Falcons, not just Archer and Beauty.  This is long overdue.  Please help if you can.

Patty - In about a week I was thinking of scheduling a chat with all the volunteers and brainstorming ideas of how we want to handle this.

I'd like to see several sections, one Pre-Mariah, two Mariah/C-S, three Mariah/Kaver, and four Archer/Beauty.  Each section would have their own history, stories, pictures, maybe interviews.  There is so much potential here.

I'm hoping a lot of people will volunteer so that each person will have a different task.

Put me down for a task. My Computer skills aren't great, but I follow directions to the letter.
I always come out of "lurkdom" to help.

Carol,

I don't have volunteer time now, but what I do have is DJ dale's falcon raps, which feature a lot of quirky M-K-and-eyas-related events and characteristics of at least a couple of years mid-decade. If any of that can be useful, do remember to let me know. I have that readily accessible. (I also have jpgs of falcon drawings from several years -- the 2005 ones, and maybe more, are actually labeled by name of eyas - but I can't imagine that would be of use in a history)

Actually, they would surely be useful as reminders of events!!  WhenI read them I am blown away at all the stuff I'd forgotten!!

Good idea.

Dale
