Wow. China's wealthiest village... Every resident in this village has AT LEAST a car, a house, and a quarter of a million dollars in the bank.

Meanwhile, back in America, we have idiots fighting on both sides of the aisle instead of working together to accomplish something positive.

Thanks Lou for the information on the Chinese village.
I wonder what it would take for us to accomplish what they have done.
It might mean working together! Heaven forbid if we do that. Life is
tough everywhere, I wonder what would happen if we had foresight or
even hindsight. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Lou
I always have trouble with inclusiveness. And I see the circumstances often come down to who has what. If A has money and B has money, but C doesn't, then A and B tend to migrate together, excluding C. It happens time and time again. Whether it's who gets to join a fraternity/sorority or who gets preferential treatment, say in hospitals, or who gets to live in what neighbourhood. I can see where it seems good that the Chinese neighbourhood pulls together, under the leadership of a specifically chosen person, as the results are impressive. And I will even agree that some people have more money, simply because they work harder. But to come to a point where you have to have so much money, so many cars etc. to live somewhere, creates boundaries that will never help the people outside of the "chosen few"...and they tend to make up the majority of the whole. Thus the division of rich and poor, not only exists, but widens constantly. And I'm afraid that the further people get away from each other, the less help they can be to each other, because they just don't understand each other at all. Thus the sayings: The rich get richer, and the poor have babies! and Never the twain shall meet... I'm sorry, but that division is not natural and no good can come of it in the long run. And to have physical barriers only invites the have-nots to harbour deep grievances, gradually work up into a situation where the select are no longer safe, always resented, hated... And we all know where hate can led... If you don't. then read all about Nazi Germany and the concentration camps... Realistically, there will always be those who have more. But to flaunt it, constantly gain on the backs of others, will not create better people or a better society, but rather an isolated group and a deteriorating society. Just my opinion.

Ann,
Thanks for your thoughtful response! I sometimes like videos that provoke higher level of thinking and that's why I shared this. ( I also like the simple fun videos!). After reading your message, I couldn't help but think of Stephen Covey's message contrasting abundance mentality with a scarcity complex. Here's some of what he says:
"Most people are deeply scripted in what I call the Scarcity Mentality. They see life as having only so much, as though there were only one pie out there. And if someone were to get a big piece of the pie, it would mean less for everybody else.
The Scarcity Mentality is the zero-sum paradigm of life. People with a Scarcity Mentality have a very difficult time sharing recognition and credit, power or profit – even with those who help in the production. The also have a very hard time being genuinely happy for the success of other people.
The Abundance Mentality, on the other hand, flows out of a deep inner sense of personal worth and security. It is the paradigm that there is plenty out there and enough to spare for everybody. It results in sharing of prestige, of recognition, of profits, of decision making. It opens possibilities, options, alternatives, and creativity."
IMHO, I agree with Covey: If A has money and B has money, there really isn't less available for C.
