Thanks ladies-sorry I couldn't get out the last couple days. Just a little thing like back and neck issues-I'm on the mend now!  wave

Hi folks!
It's time for a trip to Arkansas but this time isn't going to be all fun. My sister, Mary Ellen has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer and I will be flying there tomorrow morning to support her as she fights this disease. I have no idea when I will be back but I will be popping in and out when I can to keep track of things back here. I'm sure I'll be taking some pics of wildlife while I'm gone to share with y'all.  wave

11am

Margaret Kurtz is up in the air on her way to Atlanta from JFK and then on to Arkansas. Good thing she got out when she did. Tons of delays and cancellations at the airport.

From Sue, MAK's friend

Her flight was delayed: Well that got delayed for an hour. They had to go through deicing twice and then the co-pilot had to actually get out and inspect the wings!

12:15: For all of her friends, Margaret Kurtz has landed in Atlanta. Half way there.

Hi from Arkansas everybody! The first bird to greet me as I left the airport was a beautiful bluebird. Down the road from was my first raptor-my favorite hawk the Red-tail and the next bird was a male Cardinal!

MAK, So glad you have arrived and were greeted by such beautiful birds.  I'm very sorry about your sister, but happy you can be with her.  Emily Dickinson is my favorite poet too.  I'm thinking of you and your sister.

Thank you for the well wishes for my sister ladies! Things have been hectic since I arrived at the ranch with appointments yesterday, today, tomorrow and Monday she starts chemotherapy. I saw my first Bald Eagle yesterday in a tree on the ranch. My camera will arrive later today as I shipped that and my clothes separate to make traveling easier-so I will be taking some nature pics soon! Catch ya later!   wave

Hi folks!  For those not familiar-my sister, Mary Ellen and her hubby, Mike live on an Angus cattle ranch in Bentonville, Arkansas. There's enough wildlife on the ranch that I really don't have to leave it to get my fill. The highlight so far was seeing a Bald Eagle on Saturday in the front pasture. Gotta run for now-it's time for my sister's first chemo treatment. Click on the link below to see pics from my first few days here.  https://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0AaN3DFm0ZMWqkWA
