If this third egg does hatch, the little one should be named Miracle or Hope, or something along those lines.  I wonder if Beauty has a calcium deficiency, that may be producing too soft egg shells??

Sometimes, it is really hard to watch nature take it's course   Sad

 Sad
It is so sad, especially given that they did such a good job incubating. I hope for a re-clutch.
Carol, your pictures from RM and T's  little ones' banding came at the perfect time!  Thank you.

It IS okay to say you are sad here, Braveheart.  We are all feeling sadness today.
We can hope for a re-clutch, but there is always next year.
To feel better, look at the pictures Carol posted of Rhea Mae's  young 'uns being banded.  Adorable. And good news that makes us feel better, but is good news for the species too.

It's absolutely OK to say we're sad here!  We are human and we will all grieve in our own way that the season has not turned out the way we expected.

The thing we do need to remember is that Beauty and Archer and Unity will continue to do what they do best...be peregrines...and we have been privileged to watch them up close.  And we do have M&K's grand-eyases to watch!

Braveheart - I'm curious why you don't think it's ok to post that you're sad about the loss of A&B's eggs?  Of course it is ok.

This has been such a strange year for our Rochester Falcons, Archer and Beauty and yes, Unity.  I am very sad at the loss of all five of their eggs and potential young.  It would have been a wonderful year watching fledglings from two different nest sites, but it's not to be.   Sad

I plan on continuing to watch the cameras (and in person) in hope that Archer and Beauty re-clutch.  That would be awesome!  I will also keep checking on Unity at Kodak Park.  Miracles do happen.   pray
