Very eerie yet beautiful pics if you look at camera 4 shots now. Around 8:40. Thank goodness the heavy rain has stopped, but still ugly out. Yet this picture is pretty.

Isn't it funny - the radar shows no rain, and yet cam 4 makes it look like it's pouring!

Archer by Main cam
They switched so fast, no look at eggs. On the live stream, all looked intact. Beauty did look at her eggs a few times over night.

Got a screen capture of the eggs... they weren't uncovered very long! On CAM 1, that's Beauty flying out, between the camera and Archer!
When Archer switched in, I thought he looked tiny compared to the dry spot.
Beauty was able to keep a large area around them dry, but the dry spot is even bigger than she is.

Beauty returned quickly, at 6:46, but Archer was having none of it!

Any idea why there's such a time lag on ustream between the main cam and the 4-pak?

Any idea why there's such a time lag on ustream between the main cam and the 4-pak?
The time and date that is displayed at the top of each stream is generated by the 2 devices (called
quads
) that allow us to remotely switch cameras. Unfortunately, the clocks are not in sync and cannot be automatically synchronized to a
master
clock. This would not be noticeable if they weren't such lousy clocks that run fast by several seconds per day, one running slightly faster than the other.
Once a week or so, I reset the clocks. I will try do that this morning.
There is another source of lag on Ustream you should be aware of. It's normal network lag, and it affects all streaming video. It affects each stream differently too so it is possible that our 2 streams can get out of sync as you are watching them. And if that weren't bad enough, the lag is also cumulative -- the longer you watch a stream, the more it lags. There is nothing we can do about it from our end, but you as a viewer can partially correct for it by periodically clicking on each stream's pause and play buttons. This will cause the stream to catch up to the current feed.

Foggy portrait - Beauty watching Archer leave.
And the eggs...
The front egg looks a little odd from this angle, but looks fine on the others...

Beauty sees Archer coming...
...and he's in! No egg changes from this angle...
