sorry, I did mean ARcher. I type too quickly.
As on every forum there are those that can separate the reality of falcons and not attach human emotions to them . but in most cases , people who attach human emotions, really do know the realities and just feel for the falcons.
So I think they need to be cut a bit of slack.
Everyone knows that Beauty is a survivor. Most are, but I do think, we all feel for her in our own way. The situation is what it is, and hopefully there will be chicks next year.
I have probably said too much.
Our biologists tell us, jsut when you think yiou have them figured out they do something different. I think this is the same with any species. It is called adaptation. But I do believe they do not nest when they migrate. They tend to be a solitary bird.

im really through hearing about "poor beauty"--its just 2 sad----she
is not a victim---yes she didnt have babies this year but she is a beautiful
strong falcon, just like her mother dorothy--and next year she will likely have a nest
full of hatchlings---we need to STOP the pity talk--that's not what beauty is about
I couldn't agree more. I don't like the situation with Archer, Beauty, and Unity either, but that's the way it is. It's not right to saddle these falcons with our own human emotions. Neither female is a victim. I joined this list many years ago to watch falcons carry on their lives, not to burden them with human expectations of what they should do or how they should feel.

I don't see any harm in expressing our feelings here as humans, it happens in every forum I have been on and worse. As long as you don't falcon bash, there really is no harm. Us humans, are very emotional people and what we feel, is a typical reaction. I'm sure we've all said some terrible words, under our breath about the situation here, (me included) and it was in "just the moment" but I still love A B and U, how can you not? We can feel bad but there's nothing we can do but let them be Falcons.

...is there any chance that Harlequin's feed of the banding day that is being sent to their NY offices, can be streamed to rfalconcam? Just asking...
Why not watch it on Harlequin's site?
Doh! Why didn't I think of that? Can't wait.

I never meant to suggest that anyone wasnt entitled to their feelings
about A B and U----i'm very sad about it, too, tearful as well especially
for B-----just hearing those feelings again and again has been painful
for me
What i need to apolige for is not realizing that the talking about the
situation helps many ease their own pain and i support that--i truly do
Let's keep the faith that the BEST is yet to be

Is she talking to Archer nearby? She keeps looking around and up. Looks like I'll head downtown to check things out.
