Sorry, but is B looking a little on the slimmer side?  I find that unusual given that prey pickins' would be  more abundant in these warmer months than in the frigid months that we followed her and she appeared to me  plumper chasing the prey with Mr. T?    Anyone?

From watching them in past summers, I've seen when it's very hot, they can make themselves real slim like that.  Probably cooler?

I kind of wondered about that too, Kris.  Quest and Beauty have both had similar stances in the heat, and I know that birds pant and hold out their wings to  cool off, so I think you are correct!   Thanks!

I've noticed Beauty picking alot of white down feathers out lately. When she stands straight up with wings not tight to her body she looks leggy and slender. I believe this is cooler for her by letting air in.on her body where as she scrunches down to keep warm. Just my opinion.  Grin

The slim look is typical in the heat.  When it's cooler than this they're actually fluffed up a bit to stay warm-think fluffy down coat-the fluffier the coat the warmer it is.
