By the time I got there, she was gone from the nest box. Not sure where she was between then and when she finally landed on the jail communication tower. Always good to see her.

I never knew the falcons would stick around the nest box once the hatching season was over. When might they start thinking migration for the year?

Even after fledging & before migration they will frequent the nest box to strengthen their pair bond. Migration depends on the bird. The males here seem to do the migrating while the females stay year round. The males seem to leave in late September or early October and return late February or early March.

I had to do run errands today and naturally while I was out I checked DT and KP. I was at each location for over an hour with not a glimpse of Beauty,Archer or Unity. Of course it was the middle of the day when falcons usually hunker down out of the sun for a nap.

No bonding between A&U that has been witnessed.
