There have been several attempts to try and ID the female peregrine at Kodak Park (KP) by many Rochester watchers, including Kodak employees.  Last September, our KP falcon was very happy to show us her purple band (a sign that she was from the Midwest), but we couldn't distinguish anything on the...

That's what I thought but hard to see.  She appears to have a cute patch of white feathers on top of her head!

I'm just trying to keep all of our pefas straight for now.  We don't know who Beauty's winter-friend is, but maybe we have an ID on LadyPefa at Kodak Park.   IF, as Joyce's pictures show, the Lady Pefa  has a band of 71 H, and is Unity from Toledo, Ohio, does that mean that Beauty and Lady Pefa's mother (Belle?) are sisters?    I need a score card.  But do I have it kind of correct for now?

If it’s the female from Univ of Toledo, she’s related to Beauty…the female at the University of Toldeo, Belle, fledged from the Univ of Pittsburgh in 2003. Beauty fledged from here in 2007.)

That's how I'm reading it!

Ei...

Beauty was hatched and fledged from Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning site...I don't think we ever posted the date on the KFC board, though.  Jim P may remember the year she fledged.

I see the confusion-in my post I was quoting Karen Lang from the blog comments section-she's the one saying Beauty fledged in 2007 from U of Pitt (Cathedral of Learning)-which is "here" to her.  So...Do over!

Belle- hatched Cathedral of Learning 2003 to Dorothy & Erie-Nesting at University of Toledo (Ohio)-daughter Unity hatched 2009 71/H B/R

Beauty hatched Cathedral of Learning 2007 to Dorothy & Erie-Nesting Times Square Rochester

Resident female @ Kodak Park (Lady Pefa) might be Unity 71/H B/R.  If so...

Then Beauty is Lady Pefa's aunt  (Beauty & Belle being full sisters)

And one other interesting tidbit...

If she's 73/H - Female banded at the Bayshore Power Plant, Lucas County, OH 2009- Name: Shay, then she hatched at the same scrape where Millie (Archer's sister) nested in her final year with Swifty, before moving on to Monroe MI with Leopold.

Here's the piece I'm not sure of...Is Shay the daughter of Swifty & a new mate?  If she is, she's ALSO a relative of Beauty, though a bit more distant.  Swifty is the son of Roosevelt, Roosevelt is the brother of Erie, Beauty's father.

And Erie, Roosevelt & Leopold are full brothers.  And Hunter, who was with "our" Ranger in Toronto, is their half brother (all sons of Bandit).

Wow!  You know your PeFa  family tree!   I don't think I know that much about my own family tree :-)
It will be an interesting nesting season.
Thank you for all the information..

and we know there has to be an M/K link in there somewhere.  Let's see.

If the KP bird IS Unity.  She is the daughter of Belle, who is the older sister of Beauty, making Unity Beauty's niece.  Now for the tricky part.  In 2006, Rhea Mae, the daughter of Mariah and Kaver was hatched and fledged successfully.  Rhea Mae's first daughter, at the Sheraton in Toronto, was named Unity by the Rochester bunch.  Unity may be the name of the KP bird.  Coincidence?  I think not!   lol
