Hi everyone! After a week away I was treated to a fun watch courtesy of Beauty and Mr. T. Sue and- I joined CarolP on the Broad St. Bridge where we saw Mr. T up under the northeast wing of the Times Square building. Shortly after we went down to Aqueduct...

This comment was made on my report from yesterday! Lu Ann Says:

"I saw a male and a female Falcon both at the same time on two separate light poles on the Irondequoit Bay Bridge at 4:30 yesterday afternoon".
Could it be another nesting pair for us here in the Rochester area?! We better start recruiting more watchers and fast!!!

I found this comment on the watchers blog from my 2-4-11 watch.

Another siting today! On two separate occasions today I saw a passage peregrine, tiercel I think, around the Monroe Avenue exit of 590. The first time, he was sitting on a lamp post overlooking the highway, and I distinctly saw an antenna wire sticking off of his back. The second time, he was flying low and slow, and came to a perch on another lamp post.
Not sure, but one of Rochester’s birds may be back early for the spring!
Could it be Quest come home for a visit? It's getting crazy busy around here with all these falcons!

Hmmm...I suppose it's possible-she did go from Cape Cod to NJ and back in a couple of days-but Quest was in Kingston ON 02/03 and back at Prince Edward Point on 02/06. Any other transmitter peregrines out there?

I knew something was bugging me-a passage bird is a first year bird before it's first molt, so it would be a bird still in juvie plumage. Assuming the person meant what it means, it's not one from Rochester-neither of ours got a transmitter last year.

Thanks Ei, I wondered what she meant by passage peregrine so it definitely wasn't Quest.

You'd think with all the nests we follow we would have heard of a peregrine getting a transmitter last year. Odd.

I wonder if it could be this bird...
http://www.peregrine-foundation.ca/w/2011/01/sightings/peregrine-with-potentially-dangerous-gear/
It was seen near where Quest has been, which isn't really all that far from Rochester as the peregrine flies...

Maybe it's not a Pefa. Look at the gull that was spotted with a transmitter.
