Luka=Female
Bailey=Female
Dox=Male
Edge=Could be male or female, no pic!
The fearsome? foursome, the class of 2013: Dox, Luka, Bailey, and Edge. Check out the blog as to the "why" of the chosen names. KathyQ was pretty aggressive when they went out on the ledge, but from reports, Will wasn't around too much - that is not unusual for males.

Just posted on FB:
KathyQ
Now for the hard part of this falcon "job" that I have of updating everyone. The news isn't good for one of this year's brood - Bailey was found dead inside a power plant in Posey County. Apparently it had gotten in a warm in the plant. We all know that it is hard for such young falcons to make it past their first year but comfort is that she fledged successfully and tasted the freedom of the skies. Interestingly enough, a DNR nest box has been at that plant for years but never used. This pic is of Bailey at banding time.
Fly free, young Bailey.

Great article and pics! Thank you, Donna!
IndyFroona has now been nesting at Port Washington for three years. This year, she and her mate raised four beautiful chicks; Gasco, Griff, Bucky and Lightning.
As far as I know, her mate is still Ives (banded black/green 78/N), born in 2004 at the Edgewater Generating Station in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
IndyFroona's mate migrates; she does not. For the last few years, she has spent much of the winter at the University of Milwaukee nest with the resident male there, Hoffman. Hoffman's long-time mate, who is unbanded, also migrates. At least once, in the spring, there was a territorial battle in which the Milwaukee female reclaimed her nest. In other years, it seems that IndyFroona simply returns home to her own nest in the spring.
