A toast to Scratch, the bravest falcon-watching chicken ever to grace the banks of the Genesee River.
Fly high, Scratch.

Oh, gosh...just saw this. Linda, Craig - I'm SO sorry...I loved that hen.
I have her picture and feather on the front door of my apt!

So sorry for your loss.  It's not the species of the departed one that matters, it's the quality of the love we give them. I always enjoyed the pictures of Scratch at falcon-watching get-togethers, and I know she'll be missed.

Linda and Craig,
I am so sorry to hear about Scratch.  I had always
looked forward to coming to Rochester at the summer
gathering and meet that beautiful bird!
My condolences.

I am so sorry about Scratch!  I never met her, but I loved seeing her photos from the falcon watches.  What an unusual and beautiful pet.  I have never heard her history.  Do share it when you can.

Thank you for the condolences.

She was everything you all said and so much more.

Someday I might be able to share her story.

Scratch crossed the Rainbow Bidge today to loin her sister Peck.
She died peacefully sleeping in Craig's arms, one of her many favorite places to be.
RIP little one

So sorry to hear about Scratch. It's never easy to lose a pet, whatever the species. Feathers or fur or scales, they worm their way into our hearts. Sad

Linda and Craig,

With her photo magnet on our refrigerator and her egg on our tree every Christmas, Scratch will always be a part of our lives.  It was amazing to see her jump high in the air to catch a worm.  She always seemed so happy sleeping in Craig's arms.

I am so sorry to hear about Scratch, Linda.  She was one fine bird and is forever memorialized on my refrigerator!
