Thanks for sharing!  How cute it is!  Polly and Algo never did nest in the box that was put up for them-preferred the ledge better.

Yes Kris G, they have prefered the ledge this year but the Turcot Interchange will be pulled down next year or the year after. They will build a new Turcot Interchange.
It seems that Polly and Algo have a "Piggot" too. There is a sub-adult there. Watchers have named her Shirley, she is unbanded. And Algo is very interrested... :  bow crying:

I knew about Shirley through postings by Richard Dupuis on BCAW.  Another 2-timer.  Sad

Wow, these falcons like their women huh? I'm so glad Polly and Algo have a baby. Quite a small area for him to test his wings or her!! Very very cute, thanks!!

regret to inform you that there have been deaths reported from juvenile to the Turcot Interchange. From the information I have for now
every reason to believe that he died of natural causes.

When I receive more details, I will let you
part.

Algo and Polly are still present but somewhat
silent

Translated from french. This was their only hatch and they lost it so early. So sad for them. Hope they find out the cause. Sad

Ok, so what is the original webcam topic for Poly and Algo? If there is one, this topic will be merged into it. If there isn't, then this topic will be moved to another board because it doesn't mention a falcon web cam.

Oops sorry Shaky, it should be with the Montreal Falcons. That's where all the Polly news is under. I don't think Polly has her own Cam at this time. You can merge it into there. Thanks

It's under "first egg in Montreal for Spirit" but that should be changed too to Montreal Falcons.

Hello,

...... :-(

I received an e-mail last Wednesday telling me there was
a problem at Turcot, no signs of the juvenile.

I went for a quick visit at the end of the day to
see one off the adult staring at the nest and
no sign of life at the nest. But these are
situations that we've seen before so I was
not exactly sure that something happen
to the juvenile.

When I arrived Thursday morning at 6h00 am Polly
was at the nest just staring inside and out for more
then a hour but at that point I knew something was
wrong, the juvenile should have been already up and
asking for food.

When Polly move I finally saw part of the juvenile
not moving not far from the edge of the nest.

Polly gave the impression that she didn't know why
the juvenile was not giving any sign of life.

You can see a photo here:

https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/1170 ... 6421445186

After talking with a friend of mine who saw the juvenile
Monday, chances are that he died of natural causes.

Like I wrote on F.B. I'm waiting for more details.

Since this is a natural nest, the falcon have chosen
themselves to nest there without any human intervention,
it' s possible that we never know what happen.

The people who were hired to keep an eye on him
were supposed to intervene just in case of a problem
with the workers and, or the work that needed to be
done to the structure.

If the falcons would have use the nest box,
it would have been a different story.

When Polly arrived at the nest, you can see
that she's touching the juvenile with one
of here feet here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUaZWXhCT4Q#ws

You can see her lying next to the juvenile here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3_yomLkQkU#ws

As for Roger and Spirit the latest news
is telling me also that's the end of there
nesting season.

So unfortunately...it's not a good year for either
couple of Roger and Spirit or Algo and Polly. :-(

What can I say.....life goes on...I hope things get
better with both family next year.
