Oh my gosh -- wrote that, looked up and a red-tailed hawk landed on the corner of my balcony -- about 8 feet away from "my" two 11 day old pigeon squabs!! Yikes!!
Didn't know I could move that fast, this early in the morning!!
Squiggles, the father, and I came roaring in on the poor thing at the same time! Squigs is such a brave father!! The r-t didn't stand a chance!!! The squabs are tucked out of sight, but still... No photo this time -- just a r-t driving away outburst! Coffee -- I need coffee!!

A fortunate Ustream hiccup on stream 1 caused a new recording to start after midnight. So we have a video that may show the egg being laid. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

Red-tails aren't so easily intimidated! An old lady and a pigeon don't make up really worthy opponents! *grin* I just hope he has more interesting things to eat! I'll be optimistic!!

Oh! It came earlier!
I saw them both clearly on cam at 1:30, when she settled down over them, but there wasn't anything I could see in earlier archive stills.
